Open the Clerk and keep a thread
The Clerk chat follows you around the app, so you can ask about one record, move to another and keep going.
How do I open the Clerk?
- On a phone, tap the Clerk key in the bottom bar. On a bigger screen it's in the header and reads Ask the Clerk.
- A record's Kebab (3 dots) and the Spin card's Kebab (3 dots) both have Ask the Clerk, and the Clerk already knows which record you mean.
- On a Mac, iPad or iPhone with a keyboard, Command and J open and close it. Windows and Android have no shortcut.
- Offline, the key is gone, because every answer is a live request.
On a phone it's a full-height sheet, on a tablet a card, and at 1280 pixels wide or more a panel beside the page that keeps scrolling. Open it.
How long does a conversation last?
- Type and send. Stop cuts a reply short.
- Copy sits under the last reply, and each record you talk about gets a divider.
- New thread (the key at the top) starts clean.
A thread stays live for 30 minutes after your last message, wherever you open the Clerk. After that, one link, Pick it back up, brings back the last one. A thread ends after 60 turns. A line under the reply says so, and your next message starts a new one.
Can the Clerk read replies out loud?
Yes. The speaker key beside the message field reads each reply aloud. It's a per-device switch, and it isn't a voice session.
How many chats do I get?
A free account sees a line under the field, like "2 of 5 on this quarter · ends 2:44 PM". Reopening inside the 30 minutes costs nothing, and neither does the new thread after 60 turns. MOSH sees only the end time.
What does MOSH change?
- No count, no "out of quarters" wall.
- The Clerk sees your whole shelf. Free chat sees a rotating window of 500 records.
