Last.fm scrobbling
Last.fm keeps a log of what you listen to. Gatefold can add your record spins to it, so a night with a vinyl copy shows up next to the rest of your listening. It's free on every tier.
How do I connect Last.fm?
- Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Connections > Last.fm.
- Tap Connect Last.fm. Last.fm asks you to authorize Gatefold on its own site; no password passes through Gatefold.
- Back in Settings, you'll see "Connected as @yourname".
Both switches below start off. Connecting alone scrobbles nothing.
How do I scrobble my record spins?
Turn on Auto-scrobble spins on the Last.fm card. Then:
- Spins you confirm post to Last.fm with a timestamp per track.
- Records Marquee hears playing post once the album finishes. Play the same one again after about 40 minutes and it counts as a new listen.
- A spin you only looked at doesn't count; you have to tap Spin.
A job sends the queue every ten minutes, so a scrobble can take a little while to appear.
Can it scrobble what I play in the app?
Turn on Scrobble what I play in Gatefold. It sends the Apple Music tracks you play here, Driving Mode included. A track counts once you've heard half of it or four minutes. If another app already scrobbles your Apple Music, leave this off or every track shows up twice.
Can I log an old listen?
A play you log afterwards in Spin History scrobbles too, but Last.fm only counts plays from about the last 14 days.
What happens if I disconnect?
Tap Disconnect. What's already on Last.fm stays there.
