Holiday badges

Holiday badges are a record of the days you marked with music. One badge per holiday, earned once. They're free.

How do I earn a holiday badge?

  1. Open Gatefold on a music holiday. That's enough.
  2. Or spin a record that day. A spin you confirm counts too.
  • The day is your own local day, not UTC. A spin you confirm before noon the next day still counts toward the holiday.
  • The Spin of the Day that Gatefold picks for you doesn't count on its own. Opening the app or confirming a spin does.
  • Two holidays also check the format. CD Player Day needs a CD spin and Cassette Store Day needs a cassette spin. Opening the app isn't enough for those two.
  • The badge is for a holiday spin or an app open. It isn't for matching the record to the holiday.
  • Nothing is taken back once it's earned.

When does the badge show up?

Badges are granted by a sweep that runs once a day at 12:20 UTC (7:20 am US Central). So the badge lands the morning after the holiday, not the minute you spin. If it isn't there yet, give it a day.

Where do I see my badges?

Kebab (3 dots) > your name (Profile), and scroll to Holiday Spinner. Earned badges are lit, the rest are dimmed, with a count of how many you've earned.

To show them to other people: Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Public Profile. Turn on Make profile public, and leave Badges on. Then they appear on your public page at gatefold.fm/u/your-name.

Where's the full calendar?

On the Music Holidays page: Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Help > Open Music Holidays. What a holiday does to your Spin page is in Music holidays and your Spin of the Day.
