Your turntables and cartridges

Where do I add my gear?

Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Equipment. There are two cards: Cartridges first, then Turntables. A turntable is optional.

How do I add a cartridge?

1. Tap + Add a cartridge.
2. Start typing the model in the Cartridge box, like Ortofon 2M Red, and pick it from the list. The specs fill in: type, tracking force, output, stylus profile and rated stylus life.
3. Not in the list? The line under the box offers to add what you typed by hand.
4. Already broken in? Set Current hours. If you don't know the rated life, it starts at 1000 hours.
5. Tap Add cartridge.

And my turntable?

Tap + Add a turntable and type the model, like Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO. It matches the catalog as you type, or you can enter your own. Then put a cartridge on it with the On picker on the cartridge's card.

How do stylus hours add up?

• Tap the round button on the cartridge that's on your deck now. It gets a Mounted chip.
• Every spin Gatefold logs while it's mounted is stamped with that cartridge, and the album's running time goes onto its hours.
• Marquee counts the first time it hears an album each local day. Playing it again that evening doesn't count twice.
• No mounted cartridge, no hours.

Do plays in the car count?

No. Driving Mode and CarPlay never log a spin, so they never add stylus hours.

How do I know when to replace the stylus?

The mounted cartridge gets a Stylus life card: hours used against its rated life, a meter, and the percentage left. The label goes from Plenty of life left to Time to replace soon at 25% left, then Replace it now at 10%. There's no push or email reminder, so check the meter. Marquee shows the same meter on its Your Rig card.

How do I fix the count?

• Edit hours on the Stylus life card, type the number, Save.
• Replaced it? Reset hours puts it back to zero after a new stylus.
• In Spin History you can change which cartridge a spin was played on, set it to none, or delete the spin. The hours move with it.
