Connect Discogs and choose what syncs

If your records are already on Discogs, connecting it is the fastest way to fill Gatefold. One connection brings in every record and turns your folders into shelves, and you decide which folders and formats come in.

How do I connect Discogs?

  1. Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Sources, and tap Connect on the Discogs row.
  2. Say yes when Discogs asks you to authorize Gatefold. The import starts right away. A big collection takes a few minutes, so put a record on.
  3. Your Discogs folders show up on your Shelf as shelves.

Can I pick which folders and formats come in?

Yes. On your Discogs row, tap Manage > Advanced: pick formats & folders and tick the boxes for the formats and folders you want. Only those come in.

How often does it sync?

  • Gatefold syncs with Discogs on its own once a day, when you open the app. Or tap Sync now any time.
  • Records you remove on Discogs go away here too.

Do records I add in Gatefold go to Discogs?

Yes, while Sync adds to Discogs in Manage is on, and it's on by default. A record you add in Gatefold also goes into your Discogs collection, in Uncategorized.

One catch: delete a record here that's still on Discogs and the next sync brings it back. Tap Remove from Discogs too on the toast, or delete it on Discogs.

How many folders come in as shelves?

  • Free brings in up to 5 Discogs folders as shelves.
  • MOSH gets 100 shelves instead of 5.
