Shelves and the Trade Pile

Shelves sort your collection into your own rooms and piles. They also decide what Spin of the Day is allowed to pick, through Keep out of spins.

What's a shelf?

A shelf is a place you move a record to. Name it anything: a room, a mood, a pile you mean to trade. I built it as a place you move a record to, never as a score.

How do I shelve a record?

Album Page > Kebab (3 dots) > Shelve…

  1. Open a record from your Shelf. On its album page the Shelf row says Not shelved. Tap Shelve. The Kebab (3 dots) has Shelve… too, and so does the one on Spin of the Day.
  2. Type a name under New shelf name and tap Create. The record goes on it. Tap any shelf in the list to put the record on it or take it off, then tap Done.
  3. To rename, hide or delete shelves, open Shelves. It's also at Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Collection, in the Shelves card, as Manage shelves.

What's the Trade Pile?

It's the one shelf the app offers ready-made, for records on their way out. It's created the first time you use it, and it stays off your shelf view.

How do I keep a pile out of Spin of the Day?

Open Shelves and switch on Keep out of spins for that shelf. Records on it won't come up as your Spin of the Day. The Trade Pile has it on already.

What about my Discogs folders?

If you use Discogs, they show up too, under From Discogs. Discogs decides what's in those, so you can't file records onto them from the app.

How many shelves do I get?

  • Free gets 5. The Trade Pile counts as one of the five.
  • MOSH gets 100 shelves instead of 5.
