Apple Music
Apple Music can be a speaker for your records, a source for your shelf, or both ways. You pick which when you connect, and you can change it later.
How do I connect Apple Music?
- Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Sources > Apple Music.
- Tap Manage on the Apple Music row.
- Choose a mode, then tap Connect Apple Music.
- Just play my records: stream what you own, in the app, in CarPlay and in Driving Mode. Nothing is imported.
- Import my library: your Apple Music albums come onto the shelf, plus playback.
- Two-way: import, and send your wantlist back to Apple Music.
You need an Apple Music subscription. It works on the web, iOS and Android; on the web on an iPhone, connect from Safari.
How do I import and sync?
- Tap Import Library (in Two-way it reads Sync), or Sync now on the row.
- Gatefold also pulls on its own, the first time you open the app after 24 hours. That pull only brings albums in; it never sends anything out.
- Switched to Just play my records? Tap Remove N imported albums to clear what came in earlier.
Can I send things to Apple Music?
In Two-way, Sync first pushes your wantlist into an Apple Music playlist, then pulls your library. The playlist is called "gatefold.fm - The CLERK recommends" until you change it under Wantlist playlist > Playlist name. A Clerk playlist has its own ♪ push to apple music key.
How does playback work on iPhone?
On iOS the Native playback · Lossless & Spatial switch is on by default. Restart the app after changing it. Lossless needs a wired or USB-C output; Bluetooth caps it.
Which part is MOSH?
- Push collection to Apple Music (inside Two-way) adds every vinyl, CD and cassette on your shelf to your Apple Music library and a "My Collection" playlist. Free accounts can still pick Two-way and push the wantlist and playlists.
