Music holidays and your Spin of the Day

What happens to my Spin of the Day on a holiday?

The Spin page opens on a holiday tab named for the day, like METAL DAY PICKS or HENDRIX DAY. The regular Spin of the Day sits out that day, because the holiday card already shows the day's pick.

• The pick is a record from your own shelf with a tie to the day, and a line saying what the tie is.
• If nothing on your shelf really fits, the card says so, for example "Nothing on your shelf is a great fit for Metal Day."
• Shelves for the day. Under the pick, rows of your own records that fit, each with its own name. On Hendrix Day those rows are called Voodoo Chile and Purple Haze.
• Metal Day sorts your metal records into six shelves by era and style, from the first records that sounded like metal to metal made since 2000. Only real metal counts as a fit.
• The Clerk writes its note on the pick for the day, unless the fit is loose. Flex art made from the pick takes on the day's look too.
• The day is your own local day, not UTC.

Where's the Music Holidays page?

Kebab (3 dots) > Holidays, under On the radar. While Record Store Day is close, an RSD tile takes that spot. The page is always at Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Help > Open Music Holidays, or go straight to Music Holidays.

It lists this year's holidays with their dates and taglines, and marks today's as Active. On a holiday, the day's pick sits at the top of the page.

Do I get a badge?

Yes. Open Gatefold on the day, or spin a record, and the badge lands on your Profile the next morning. CD Player Day needs a CD spin and Cassette Store Day needs a cassette spin. The details are in Holiday badges.
