What you get with Mosh Pit
Mosh Pit is Gatefold's paid tier. Free (GA) is the whole record store. MOSH is the back room. Here's everything it adds, then what stays free on every account.
What does it cost?
- $5 a month or $50 a year on the web, $5.99 a month in the iPhone and Android apps.
- On the web and on iPhone, the first 7 days are free if you've never had MOSH.
- Sign up or manage it in Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Subscription.
What happens to quarters?
They go away. Free accounts get 15 quarters a month, shared by everything the Clerk writes or draws. On MOSH nothing counts:

What does MOSH change about the Clerk?
- A sharper Clerk. Chat, album takes and recommendations run on a stronger model that thinks a little longer before it answers.
- Your whole shelf in chat. On free, chat sees a rotating 500 records at a time. On MOSH it sees all of them.
- Longer takes. Two full paragraphs on an album, where free gets one or two short ones.
- Deeper credits. A free take is grounded on the producer. A MOSH take also knows the mixer, the mastering engineer, the lacquer cutter and the guests on single tracks.
- More memory. The Clerk reads 4,000 characters of what it remembers about you. Free reads 1,800.
- Collection value. Ask what your shelf, or one record, is worth and the Clerk answers from Discogs prices. What the Clerk can do
- Sharper Flex art. MOSH pieces are drawn by a stronger image model.
What does it tell me about prices?
- The pressings finder. Every pressing of an album on one page, sorted into originals, reissues and audiophile cuts, with each one's Discogs marketplace price and suggested prices by condition. Tap pressings next to Buy on a Want card, a recommendation or Marquee. Pressings explorer
- Pressing value on your own album pages: how many copies of your pressing are for sale, the lowest ask, and suggested prices by condition, with a link to that pressing on Discogs.
- What it's worth, when you scan a record in a shop: median value, prices by condition, and a box for the sticker price. Type it in and it says Steal, Under, Fair, Over or Steep.
- NM and VG+ prices on the pressing you're about to add, next to the copies for sale.
- Your shelf's value in Collection Stats > Stats for Nerds.

Can it value my collection for insurance?
Yes. The insurance report is MOSH only. It's marked Experimental / Work in Progress, and here's what it does today:
- Open Collection Stats > Stats for Nerds > Insured value (VG+ basis).
- Tap Prepare my insurance report. Gatefold looks up fresh Discogs prices for every physical record you own, overnight.
- Each record is valued at the higher of its lowest current Discogs ask and its Discogs VG+ price. Both prices are printed and the one used is named. A record with neither gets a labelled estimate from comparable sales.
- Download a PDF, or a spreadsheet (XLSX) with Inventory, Not Insured and Resources sheets, and send it to your insurer.
- Re-price once every 3 months.

What does it add to Concerts?
- Presale windows and presale alerts. A show can say "Presale live" or the presale day and time, and you get a push before a presale opens, for artists you own at shows near you. Free accounts see and get the general on-sale only.
- A second concert-alert city. Track shows somewhere else, like where your folks live or where you're moving. Alerts cover both, and a switch on Concerts shows one place at a time. Add it in Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Concert locations.
- Side projects of what you play. Shows near you by bands that share a member with an artist you've played in the last year.

What does it add to my shelf?
- 100 shelves instead of 5, counting Discogs folders and the ones you make. Shelves and the Trade Pile
- Two Discogs accounts on one shelf, yours and a partner's or your own second one. Two Discogs accounts on one shelf
- Spines: 20 shelf photos a day. Free accounts get 5, for life. Add a whole shelf from one photo
- Your shelf in Apple Music. In Two-way, Push collection to Apple Music adds every vinyl, CD and cassette you own to your Apple Music library. Apple Music
- Your shelf in Tidal. In Two-way, Push your shelf to Tidal adds your records to your Tidal collection. Tidal
What does it add to Spin?
- Residencies. A themed run of records, one a night, revealed as you go, in place of the single daily pick. How Spin of the Day works
- A Residency card on the Share page while one runs or after it ends. Share page cards
- The Clerk's note on a set. When Spin shows a themed set, MOSH gets a line from the Clerk on why those records go together.
Does it change Marquee, CarPlay and Driving Mode?
- No meter in the car. DJ sets, refills and voice sessions stop counting. What costs a quarter in CarPlay
- Wider picks you don't own. A DJ set can slip in one record you don't own, and Marquee's Also check out card suggests one. On free, both come from your Want list. On MOSH they can also come from the people credited on your records, bands that share a member, and your recommendations.
- Pressings on Marquee. When Marquee hears a record you don't own, its card adds a Pressings button. What Marquee logs
Can I change how it looks?
- The Llama '97 skin, nine backlight colours from real decks, and how your Mosh badge is made (LED, Foil or Sticker), in Kebab (3 dots) > Settings > Appearance. Make Gatefold yours
- Pin Day or Night. Album colours follow the clock on every account. MOSH can hold them at Day or Night all the time, under Adaptive color.

What stays free?
Your own data and everything you do every day. MOSH adds to these. It never takes any of them away.
- Your records. The Shelf, search and every filter, Want, spin history, ratings, your private notes, your gear and stylus hours, and the numbers and charts in Collection Stats.
- Adding records: barcode, a photo of the cover, Listen, typing, pasting a link, Discogs and file imports.
- Spin of the Day, music holidays and Last.fm scrobbling.
- Marquee, CarPlay and Driving Mode, with all three Driving lenses. G-Force and Speedo carry a Mosh Preview badge but work on every account.
- Concerts in your city, Worth the drive and on-sale alerts.
- Apple Music and Tidal: playing, importing your library, Add to Tidal, and sending your Want list and Clerk playlists.
- The Clerk on 15 quarters a month, with its memory, personas, the cussing dial and Forgot I owned.
- View album on any record: details, credits, tracklist and Where to buy.
What if I stop paying?
Your account goes back to GA when the time you paid for runs out. Your records, ratings and notes stay. The app goes back to Sleeve and Gatefold Green, and your skin and backlight picks are kept for if you rejoin.
